Dental Bridges in Houston, TX
Dental Bridges in Houston
We place several types of tooth bridges at Dr. Arezina’s office. However, they all serve the same purpose, to fill the spaces left by missing teeth. These dental appliances are effective to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth.
A traditional bridge is the most commonly used type. This restoration consists of two crowns that cover the teeth on each side of the gap. The prosthetic tooth is supported between the two crowns.
Dr. Arezina may also recommend an implant-supported bridge. This type involves a pontic, or false tooth, that is secured by an implant post that is surgically inserted into the jawbone.
At your consultation, your dentist in Houston will discuss your situation and make the best treatment suggestion for your case.
Bridges from Vesna Arezina DDS
The process of placing a bridge varies depending on the type of restoration. For example, if you get a traditional dental bridge, that will require two or more dentist visits. At the first appointment, your Houston dentist will prepare the adjacent teeth. Then, impressions will be made and sent to a lab. This is where your new custom bridge will be made.
During the second round, your fixed bridge will be cemented in place. Expect to come to for several more checkups. This will allow your dentist to ensure that the new restoration works well with your natural bite. Also, it lets us see how well your smile has been filled in.
